Question 1: Is wheelabrating more expensive than manual surface cleaning?
Answer: Some specifications for structural steel surface preparation only require SSPC-SP3 (Power-tool cleaning).
We can wheelabrate to a higher standard for comparable costs, in a fraction of the time. If SSPC-SP6
(Commercial blast cleaning) or better is required, wheelabrating can save time and money over conventional
sandblasting.

Question 2: How much will the wheelabrating cost? Is the cost based on weight or surface area?
Answer: Currently we are following the local industry standard, and are pricing wheelabrating of
raw steel materials by weight. Depending on the type of product, and quantity, rates vary anywhere from $2.70
per cwt. to $9.25 per cwt. for most items. Fabricated steel is priced on a per job basis. Since we are doing a
lot of painting as well, we also calculate surface areas for pricing. In the future, our wheelabrating rates may
be modified to reflect both surface area and weight, to keep pricing accurate and competitive.

Question 3: What type and size of materials can be processed by your wheelabrator?
Answer: The wheelabrator is most efficiently used to blast clean plain steel sections, such
as structural beams, channels, angles, pipe and tubing. We also process bar sizes, steel plates and heavier
expanded metals. These items generally come to us in lengths between 8'-0" and 60'-0". Our machine can
accommodate sizes up to 10'-0" wide and 30" high. Items less than 7'-0" long or over 70'-0" long can be
accommodated, but additional costs will apply.

Question 4: Can you wheelabrate fabricated steel?
Answer: We are able to wheelabrate fabricated steel, and can process most items that fit
through the machine, much quicker and at a better rate than conventional sandblasting. If the fabrication
creates shadowed areas which the wheelabrator misses, we can touch up these areas in our state of the art
sandblast facility. Any items too large for the wheelabrator can also be sandblasted.
Question 5: What kind of warranty do you have on your services?
Answer: All of our surface preparation and coatings applications are to SSPC or NACE
standards. Most coatings manufacturers warrant their products under certain conditions. We will warrant our
workmanship to compliment any manufacturers written warranties.
